Bulldogs at Hamilton Celebrate 100 Years
1 min read

In October 2022, at Hamilton Pastoral Museum, VIC, more than 120 Bulldog tractors of all shapes and sizes came together to celebrate 100 years since the first Lanz Bulldog tractor rolled off the production line in Germany, and in the process, set an Australian record for the largest gathering of Bulldog tractors and crawlers. The event attracted interest from tractor enthusiasts across Australia and public attendance records were also set over the weekend, that included tractor pulling demonstrations for the excitement of the crowd. The Bulldog was known as the ‘mortgage buster’ by farmers due to being well priced, fuel efficient, and incredibly reliable, with its single-cylinder, 2-stroke, horizontally-mounted engine that can burn a wide variety of low-grade fuel oils as well as diesel and petrol. The event was well supported by volunteers who manned gates and supervised the activities, and it was announced a resounding success.
