After about 3 years of procrastination, the Cobdogla Irrigation & Steam Museum has finally received the go ahead to upgrade the ventilation system for the historic Humphrey Pump.

Following a gas leak which put two of the operators in hospital for observation, the landlord, SA Water, issued a “Do Not Run” order for the pump. In January 2015, we organised a petition to the State Government to seek the removal of this order and the petition managed to receive over 6,000 signatures. After the petition was presented to Parliament, SA Water commissioned an engineer to report on what would be needed to bring the OH & S standards up to date.
