The De-Scaling of Large Engines

In 1953, the famous National Gas and Oil Engine Company, whose Wellington works were sited at Wellington Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester, UK, sent out ‘Instructions for De-scaling and the Regular Treatment of Circulating Water for National Engines’ to their current users and prospective clients.

They were advising that where scale had formed through the use of hard water in the water jacket of engines, it could be effectively removed by the use of Clensol Descaling Solution, manufactured by Clensol Limited, Chemical Engineers.
