The Czechoslovakian Benz Engine No. 4742
6 min read

A review of the international literature suggests there has been relatively little written anywhere on the Czechoslovakian (now the Czech Republic) manufactured Benz engines.  With perhaps fewer than 100 worldwide on the register, detailed research into their history (especially after a forced cessation of production around the onset of WWII) has been somewhat subdued.

Essentially, the attractively presented Benz engines are horizontal, open crank, twin flywheel, magneto ignition with a striker lever, sideshaft, on original “busy” Czech centric attractive transports, ranging in size from around 2½hp to approximately 10hp.
