In the last issue #192, you would have read that I had to decide as to what level of restoration I was heading for with the Field Marshall, and the final machine spec that it would end up being. I also started chasing the rust out of it using the molasses and caustic vats method. This issue, you will read how I sourced and fitted the winch, overhauled the steering box and fuel tank, and fitted the charging system, along with a bit of air intake maintenance.
While the operator deck was off, I had to start planning how the winch was going to fit, considering that my Field Marshall didn’t have a PTO, nor did I yet have a winch. I soon found a PTO as Don Flower offered me one from a wreck he had and this fitted straight up to my old tractor with no issue.
