Unlike years ago, when the Kent rally summer season sported at least six big steam shows across the county, today only one survives. The Weald of Kent Steam Rally was held over two days this year on 3rd and 4th August in the centre of the ‘Garden of England’ at Little Engeham Farm in Woodchurch.
It is a first-class event and well worth a trip out for the day. Featuring the Harris Old Tyme Funfair, the star of the entertainment is the famous Messham’s Wall of Death featuring 1920/30s Indian motorcycles being driven around the wooden bowl at speed. The riders perform spectacular tricks to the enjoyment of the punters.
