According to the old saying, good things come in small packages. That’s not just true of small presents, sometimes it applies to small vintage machinery exhibitions as well. I stumbled across a good example back in May, when I attended one of the events organised as part of the National Trust Western Australian Heritage Festival 2016.
The event was labelled as “National Motoring Heritage Day – Vintage Vehicles and Market Garden Machinery”. It was held at the Azelia Ley Homestead, which is a heritage listed historic house in the City of Cockburn, about 10km south of Fremantle. As usual, with events of this kind, I went along aware that there might be just a modest display of vintage machinery. I am, however, a bit of an optimist, and hoped to be surprised by what I found.
